Our school offers wrap-around care for all users.

Our breakfast club starts from 7:30 am and costs  from £2.50 – £3.50 per session. The children are welcomed into reception and taken into our main school hall where they can have a choice of cereals, toast, pancakes and crumpets. There are activities set up for them and a space for them to stretch their legs before school starts. At 8:30 am the children are then taken out into the KS1 and KS2 playgrounds, supervised by staff, and line up as normal to come into school for 8:45 am.

Our after school club runs between 3:20 pm and 5:50 pm and costs £7 per session. This is run in the school between various classrooms and the outdoor area. The children have the option to be creative with play as well as engage with staff and children. There are plenty of activities to keep them engaged and there is a weekly movie night which alternates each week to allow all the children the opportunity. They are provided with a good healthy snack, although one night a week they have a treat, again, this is alternated.

The provision opened in April 2017 and has become very busy ever since. Our staff are qualified, experienced and fun. The provision is run on a 1:10 staff to child ratio, although on occasions there are more children due to the needs of places. I am happy to take last minute bookings and flexible session requests providing the needs of the provision are met.

Places run on a half termly bases, so if you know what sessions you require on a regular basis, this will be fixed into a half termly rolling contract. Extra sessions can be added if the places are available. Payments are to be made up front. Please see the attached ‘terms and conditions’ for further information.

If you would like and information regarding places, please get in touch with Amy Vine, School Business Manager.

Wrap Around Provision September 2020

Breakfast and after school club will return to normal sessions and hours from the 3rd September when the Autumn Term begins.
If your child/ren are booked in for contracted sessions, we will assume that these sessions will remain the same. If you would like to change any sessions, please can you let Amy Vine, business manager know by sending an email as soon as possible. Once we have put the registers together we will confirm any changes with you by email.
The plan will be to continue the breakfast club in the main hall. After school club will also be held in the main hall with access to the KS2 playground. When in the hall the children will be divided into groups in order to minimise risk.
Arrivals and collections for wrap-around will still be via the main gate and through reception.
Breakfast club has two available sessions: 7.30am £3.50 and 7.45am £2.50
After school club session: 3:20pm – 5:50pm £7
The costs of sessions have remained the same as they have been for the last 3 years.
Breakfast club provision: when the children arrive, they are offered breakfast which is a choice of cereals, toast, crumpets and pancakes (a favourite!). Once they have finished, their breakfast they are free to play with various toys, resources, laptops and read if they choose. Children are taken to class at 8.30am by staff and this ensures a positive start to the day.
After school club provision: when the children finish school, they meet in the main hall, the registers are taken and every child accounted for. If a child is not present, staff will check with their class teacher. If a child cannot be located, parent’s will be phoned immediately to ensure the child has been safely collected from school by a named adult.
Each week we plan activities for each session. These can be a movie night, arts and crafts night, sports night, and often we will liaise with teachers to link activities to learning in class. Alongside the planned activities, every session staff will support children with outdoor play, any homework they have and wish to complete and reading with groups of children. Whilst there is always a theme or an activity for each session, children are still able to have free choice to get involved in what they would like.
Collection is via the main gate to reception. There is a bell to press and wrap around staff will come and let you in.
Before each half term begins, usually a couple of weeks before the end of the previous half term, we will send an invoice home to you. This will outline your fees, due date and voucher codes. Payments are to be made before the half term starts or within that first week. Failure to make payment could result in termination of place until fees are paid. You will find more information about this in the terms and conditions which can be found on the website under ‘Wrap Around’.
We always try to be flexible with sessions, ad-hoc sessions and moving sessions around. We appreciate there are times when you need that extra session, sometimes 5 minutes before and we will continue to provide this service.  However, we would be grateful if you could get any irregular session requests to us as soon as possible so we can plan the registers and sessions. Please bear in mind that there may be times where we have to say no to additional sessions due to staff numbers and children in already booked into the provision.
We would really appreciate you getting in touch with us to confirm your sessions for September, whether you are new or already have contracted sessions. we think it would be good to clarify sessions and just to get in touch before we return.
We are expecting lots of emails so replies will be over the next couple of weeks once we have put registers together. We can be contacted throughout the Summer holidays by email. If you need to make any changes, please email  admin@kingskerswell.devon.sch.uk.
